About the Class

Are you a musician who wants to take the next step towards writing your own songs or are you currently a singer/songwriter who would like to grow in your ability? Then come check out this songwriting course! This class does not guarantee that you will be able to write the next million dollar chart topper. Heck, you might have already written it! The goal of our time together is to refine what you are already doing within a group of fellow artists. I simply want to coach and pass on the tools, tips, and artistic opinions that I have received through the years to help you grow in this art form. FAQ: Do I need to play an instrument? No, but it helps. Will there be homework? You better believe it! Can I come if I have never written a song? Yep, if you want to give it a shot. How frequent will we meet? We will plan to meet once a month, but can meet more regularly if there is interest. Do I need to make every class? No, but come as often as you can. Some potential topics: Is this for you? Influences? (life and literature, secular and sacred) What story are you trying to tell? Audience (who and what are you writing for?) Lyrics and poetry? Should it just rhyme?
